On The Road Again…

Next stop on The BlackBerry Diaries “Pearls of Wisdom” Tour is the Bridgewater Commons Mall in Bridgewater, New Jersey, where I’ll be on Tuesday August 25th and Wednesday August 26th.

I’ll be leaving tomorrow, and be gone for a week as I carry on to visit Moms in Las Vegas as well (Aug 28/29).

Thought it was fitting to share some of the tips I originally outlined for my husband in The BlackBerry Diaries on the care and feeding of the children while I’m away.

They include:

- Don’t believe the kids when they tell you I let them eat snacks right until dinner time. Except if you’re on a conference call and you need them to shut up. I’ve done that. Upside of this is that you don’t have to make dinner as soon as you hang up.

- If something in the fridge stinks, throw it out. Don’t ask questions.

- If a kid stinks, wash it. Don’t ask questions.

- If a neighbour asks you to take their children for an hour or two, do it, but not without securing a return arrangement (in writing if it’s that woman at #47). Even if the kids don’t want to go, send them. Not your problem.

- If you yell at the children, make sure you close the windows first, particularly the living room ones that face out to the sidewalk where every one of our nosy neighbours will walk by and judge you.

And a new tip I thought I’d add – the grocery store is that big building down the street with the shopping carts, that ISN’T the Home Depot.

Looking forward to sharing more of these and hearing other Pearls of Wisdom from New Jersey Moms next week.
