Summary of Qualifications
Kathy Buckworth is an award winning writer, television personality and public speaker, with numerous publishing credits in both national and local magazines and newspapers. Kathy’s first book, “The Secret Life of SuperMom” was published in 2005, by U.S. publisher, Sourcebooks. It is also available in Chinese (both simple and complex) Indonesian, and Polish. Her second book, “SuperMom: A Celebration of All You Do” was released in April, 2006, and “Journey to the Darkside: SuperMom Goes Home” was published by Key Porter in April, 2007, to excellent reviews. The “BlackBerry Diaries: Adventures in Modern Motherhood” was published by Key Porter in May, 2009, and “Shut Up & Eat: Tales of Chicken, Children & Chardonnay” was released in March, 2010, by Key Porter. Her latest, “I Am So The Boss Of You” will be published by McClelland & Stewart in spring, 2013. She won the Mississauga Arts Award in 2010 in the Established Literary category, and she is the only two-time winner of the Excellence in Humour Writing Award, (2006 and 2008) presented by the Professional Writers Association of Canada. Her monthly column, “Funny Mummy” appears on websites across Canada and the U.S., as well as in print. Kathy is a featured expert on Slice Network’s “Birth Days” and is a the parenting contributor on CTVNewsChannel, as well as being a frequent guest on television shows such as Canada A.M., CityLine, Til Debt Do Us Part, CBC Newsworld, Global News, CBC’s Living, CityTV’s Breakfast Television, TVO, and Rogers Daytime, as well as the Biography Channel’s “Library”. She also co-wrote and co-hosted a radio show pilot for CBC Radio 1. Kathy is a feature writer for Sympatico.ca, as well as writing regular columns for ParentsCanada, Canadian Family, GoodLife, and others, as well as blogging for the Huffington Post. Kathy has acted as spokesperson for many blue chip brands, including Presidents Choice Financial, Pfizer, Proctor & Gamble, RIM and Telus. Kathy has career experience as a senior marketing professional in financial institutions, telecommunications, and consumer products markets, as well as public relations, public speaking and extensive promotional experience. She is an in demand public speaker and media guest.
