Learning Doesn’t Stop In the Summer
It can be hard to encourage your kids to read books during the summer months, but it’s important to keep them inspired, entertained, and most importantly, educated. While we’re out at the pool or down by the beach, it can be the perfect time to hit the shade and listen to a book the kids will love. Audible.ca has over 400,000 titles to choose from so you’re going to find something for every age. My summer 2019 picks have something for everyone. For the pre-school crowd I love Tales of Beatrix Potter, Winnie the Pooh, Paddington Bear and Dr. Seuss. They might listen for a bit, nap on a lounger, or even continue the book inside during an afternoon or evening sleep. For school age kids, big hits are The Hate U Give and Ready Player One. For the older kids I recommend some books they will probably have to read in high school anyway. The Great Gatsby and The Handmaid’s Tale. And for the parents I recommend Lost Girls of Paris, Someone Knows and the Sherlock Holmes Complete Collection.
Get the kids off their screens, out of the sun, and into the shade to relax and enjoy a great summer read. Who knows, they might even learn something?
